At this year's St. Charles Running Festival we invite you to gather your neighbors, your chruch group, your drinking buddies, your charity, your sports teams and build a little friendly competition amongst each other and the other social teams. DISCOUNTS ARE AVAILABLE & PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED!
Social Team Benefits
SOCIAL TEAMS as small as 5 people get discounted entry fees for signing up with a team, regardless of when then register. Plus teams can earn prizes and discounts the bigger their team become.
Teams of 25 or more can earn special race day accommodations including a reserved tent for your team!
On race day, we will offer prizes for the biggest teams and other awards for the best costumes, most spirited and more! Prizes will range from gift certificates to area restaurants, tickets to area events and more.
How Does It Work
When registering you will have the option to Join a Group/Team. All Members of a SOCIAL TEAM are linked by their team name and password. As your team grows, everyone benefits, event those who register first! The system will automatically refund everyone on the team who has already registered and charge the new team members the new rate. You can receive multiple refunds so as your team grows in size, you will continue to reap the benefits. Teams that reach 25+ members will also be rewarded with a social team tent in the village!
- Teams of 5 or more participants in any race and everyone saves $5
- Teams of 15 or more participants in any race and everyone saves $10
- Teams of 25 or more participants in any race and everyone saves $15
- Teams of 50 or more participants in any race and everyone saves $20
Registrants who do not initially register with their group may not be eligible for refunds or discounts. A balance of $10 will be required to have an active registration, refunds will not be processed after the $10 minimum is reached for your entry fee.
Why Join A Social Team
Running with a friend (or a group!) really is so much more fun than running alone. Once the race is over, a team is there to celebrate, and relax after the accomplishments of the day. Plus, they’ll keep people going and motivate them to finish strong if they’re starting to feel sluggish mid-race. Teams get bonus points if they wear matching team t-shirts or costumes!
Before the race even starts, a team is a built-in training support system. A dedicated team will spend some time running together before the race starts, getting to know each member’s quirks and pace. An individual can push off or ignore scheduled training runs, but a team won’t let them get away with skipping them! Besides support, team members also make for great accountability partners, and will help members to be completely prepared come race day.
Run in Honor, Memory or Support of a Loved One
Looking for a more meaningful reason to run? Create a Social Team in memory of a loved one, in support of someone currently in care, or in honor of a caregiver who made a difference in your life. With the addition of our charity partner benefiting Hospice of the Chesapeake, your miles can now go even further by supporting those receiving end-of-life services and the families who love them.
Whether your team is honoring a family member, friend, or healthcare hero, rally your community and run with purpose. Earn a tent to create a space where you can gather, reflect, and celebrate the lives that have touched yours.
